Austin, Texas – July 8, 2014 – My Florida Regional MLS, Florida’s largest multiple listing service with over 33,000 subscribers, has chosen Builders Update, a privately-held company based in Austin, Texas, to be the provider of a new construction search tool for MLS subscribers needing up-to-the-minute data on new home construction in Central Florida.
My Florida Regional MLS evaluated several new home search tools with national reach and chose Builders Update, which provides a comprehensive suite of tools to help licensed real estate agents sell new construction. Builders Update’s patented new-home search technology will allow real estate agents to easily access the data they need on over 2800 floor plans and new homes available for sale in over 550 sub-divisions in the MY Florida Regional service area.
According to Bill Gaul, CEO of Builders Update, the agreement also paves the way for new home builders to reach a much wider base of potential customers. “Builders Update gives home builders a more effective and efficient way to reach and work with the nearly 33,000 real estate agents of My Florida Regional MLS and their home-buying customers, 54% of whom prefer new home construction to existing homes,” Gaul said. According to a study by the National Association of REALTORS®, nearly two thirds of new homes sold in 2013 involved a buyer’s agent. “Builders Update will make it much easier for agents to show thousands of qualified home buyers new construction options in developments across Central Florida.”
The deal will also provide agents, at no cost, the full suite of productivity tools available through Builder’s Update. These include the popular Builders Update Private Label, a tool that allows them to offer new home construction searches from their websites, as well as the newly introduced Search Assistant that allows agents to receive updates on new home inventory based on a variety of criteria the agent selects. “With a persistent inventory shortage in some markets, Builders Update provides a much-valued tool in an agent’s arsenal of home buying options,” said Gaul.
