Homebuyers can now “Like” specific properties to solicit feedback from their friends

AUSTIN, TX — Builders Update integrated yet another timesaving feature into its online new home inventory search tool. Prospective homebuyers viewing properties that interest them can now “Like” those properties using the ubiquitous social networking tool Facebook. This one-click action will automatically insert a thumbnail and some descriptive text into that homebuyer’s Facebook page, asking their friends and acquaintances for their comments on a home that they have identified on BuildersUpdate.com. Additionally, the social contacts of the homebuyer may also click on the thumbnail, gaining much more information about that property before forming an opinion. If the friend is interested, they may conduct their own search on BuildersUpdate.com and, in turn, add to their own Facebook page properties that they like.

“The possibilities are endless for creating additional exposure for builders within the social circles of prospective buyers”, said Builders Update CEO Bill Gaul. “Builders spend a great deal of money advertising their brand and available properties, but nothing comes close to the power of a well-placed mention by someone you trust commenting on the product or a brand, giving that buyer additional insight.”

Agents can also use the social networking capabilities of the “Like” button by identifying on their own Facebook page what they feel are excellent properties at good values. “By creating fresh and engaging content using social networking, agents can drive more traffic to themselves, at no cost,” added Lee Goldstein, Builders Update Chief Operating Officer. “This, by far, is the most cost effective way for agents to create new leads for themselves.”

Users can easily access the new Facebook functionality by logging on to BuildersUpdate.com using their Facebook credentials.
